I will dismiss a student if any of these circumstances occur:
- Continuous Failure to pay tuition on time.
- Persistent absences.
- Uncooperative attitude.
- Lack of practicing

Practicing Environment
Every Student must be able to practice in a place that is comfortable (clean and warm) and without distractions. Pianos should not be in a major “traffic” area of your home.
Piano Rewards
Each student has the opportunity to earn points by:
1.Practicing
2.Paying attention during lesson
3.Theory(Flash Cards)
4. Posture
5.Attending Concerts/Recitals (bring me the program)
6.Sight Reading

Wednesday: 2:00pm BA
2:30pm MS

PIANO RULES
1 - Student must practice at least 5 days a week.
**10 minutes for beginners for the first two months
**10 minutes for beginners for the first two months
**20 minutes for beginners after the first two months
**30-40 minutes for Intermediate on up
2 - If student doesn't practice enough for two weeks in a row, a warning will be sent home.
3 - If student doesn't practice enough for three weeks in a row, student will be dropped.
4 - If Student receives three warnings within three months, student will be dropped.
5 - Students must be dedicated.
I have a waiting list of students and want to be fair. I have set these rules for this reason, to not waste your time and money, and to not waste my time. Thank you.

Tuition and Lessons
1. Tuition is $50.00 a month for a 30 minute lesson once a week. It is due on or before first lesson of each month. A reminder invoice will be sent home. IF TUITION IS NOT RECEIVED BY THE 10TH OF EACH MONTH, THERE WILL BE A $10.00 FEE.
2. The amount per month does not change if there are 5 weeks.
3. Please give me at least 24 hour notice of a lesson cancellation if you wish for a make-up lesson. There may not be availability for last minute changes. There will be no refund for missed or forgotten lessons.
Exception: PLEASE do not send a sick child to lessons. If you/your child becomes ill overnight or in the morning, inform me and I will schedule a makeup lesson if needed. Lessons cancelled for the following reasons on my end only: illness, emergencies, teacher vacations - will be credited to you.You may use the Swap List to trade lessons with another student and then inform me of the change. The Swap List will be sent home as soon as my schedule is completed. If I DO NOT have your permission to include your phone number on the Swap List, please let me know.
4. There will be no extra charge for recitals once they fall into place. There may be times I might ask for help to contribute a dessert for a recital if at all possible.
5. The student’s piano music will be purchased by the student.
6. I am able to teach throughout the summer even though school is out. I do recommend if the student takes a break for the summer and does not take lessons, to continue their piano studies. I will drop a student that takes the entire Summer off, but I am willing to work with vacations.
IMPORTANT!
Piano is exciting and I have a waiting list of eager students. Because of this if three lessons are missed in a row without me being notified I will have to replace that time slot with another student. More warnings are noted at the side of my blog under PIANO RULES.
Federation
Each student practices two pieces that they will be judged and critiqued on. Once they reach a certain amount of points they will be rewarded with a Federation Trophy. This event takes place the month of March. If you are interested in this event and would like more information please contact me. Federation has a fee of $10.00 per student and you will be are responsible to purchase one musical selection out of the two; which is usually no more than $5.00.
Piano Workshops
About every 6-7 months there will be a “Piano Workshop” held at my house. An invitation will be made out ahead of time. At the workshops there will be snacks (sometimes lunch), games (to help with piano theory), and piano playing. This will help my students to make friends and feel more comfortable around one another.

Talk to me! If you see something in your child’s practicing which you think would be helpful for me to know about do not hesitate to call. I am interested in providing for your child the most positive musical experience and opportunity to learn about one of our greatest musical instruments-the piano.
